Displays update

Sadly we said goodbye to our giant Pacific octopus, Elsa in May. Giant Pacific octopus live for 2-4 years, with both males and females not living very long after breeding. Females live long enough to tend to their eggs, which can be for weeks or months, and usually die soon afterwards as they do not eat during this period. This display area is now home to a number of curled octopus (photographed above).

Caution! Our floor surfaces change throughout the aquarium and for safety reasons we advise visitors not to wear stiletto heels during a visit.
