Also known as the motoro stingray (Potamotrygon motoro) this freshwater ray hails from from South America. Similarly to the vermiculate river stingray, the ocellate river stingray has powerful venom in it’s tail barb and in the wild is feared for this potent defensive adaptation.

Appearence

Distinguishable from the vermiculate river stingray by it’s wider larger spots that run beautifully across the top of it’s body.
