Footer Options

The Footer Options panel provides a centralized place to manage the content of the website's footer. Since the footer appears on every page, these settings are global and will apply across the entire site.

Content Editor Fields

These fields are typically found in a dedicated "Theme Options" page in the WordPress admin menu.

General Information

• Footer Logo:

  • Description: The logo to be displayed in the footer. This can be a different version from the main site logo.
  • Usage: Upload an image file for the logo.
  • Requirement: Requried.

• Copyright Label:

  • Description: The copyright notice displayed at the very bottom of the footer. The current year is often added automatically.
  • Usage: Enter your company name and relevant information (e.g., "Aspro Parks UK").
  • Requirement: Optional.

• Copyright Links:

  • Description: A repeater field to create multiple links in the copyright row, which you can add "Terms & Conditions", "Cookie Policy" and "Legal Information" etc in.
  • Usage: Ender links's name and url.
  • Requirement: Optional.

Menu Columns (Repeater)

• Description: Footer menus are configured in Appearance -> Menus in the native Wordpress way, with some custom options.
• Usage: Click "Creat a new menu" to create a new menu column. You can add several columns which will be arranged horizontally.
• Fields (per column):
  • Menu Name: Input the menu name.
  • Menu Settings - Display location: Choose which column you would like to show this menu.
  • Footer Column Heading: Input the heading for the list of links (e.g., "Shore Planet Aquarium," "Contact Us"), in Footer Column Heading field.
  • Menu: Select a pre-existing WordPress pages and assign them to this menu.

Contact & Socials

• Contact Details:

  • Description: A rich text editor to display contact information like address and phone number.
  • Usage: Enter the address, phone, and email details. Using the rich text editor allows for line breaks and basic formatting.
  • Requirement: Optional.

• Social Media Links:

  • Description: A list of social media tabs and their corresponding links.
  • Usage: Click "Social tab" to add the social media link.
  • Fields (per link):
    • Icon: Select a social media tab from a predefined list (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
    • URL: The full URL to your social media profile page.

Accreditations (Repeater)

• Description: A repeater to display a row of accreditation or partner logos at the bottom of the footer.
• Usage: Click "Add Accreditation" to upload a logo.
• Fields (per item):
  • Logo: The image of the accreditation body.
  • URL: An optional link to the accreditation body's website.

Example Usage:

Steps:

1. Navigate to Footer Settings: In the WordPress admin, go to the "Theme Options" page and click on the "Footer" tab.
2. Upload Logo & Copyright:
   • Upload a logo to the Footer Logo field.
   • Enter "© Shore Planet Aquarium" in the Copyright Text field.
3. Add Menu Columns:
   • Navigate to Appearance -> Menus
   • Click "Create a new menu" to create a new menu column.
     • Menu Name: "Contact Us"
     • Menu Settings - Display location: Choose "Footer Column text Menu (eg.Contact Details)".
     • Footer Column Heading: Input "Contact Us" in Footer Column Heading field.
     • Menu: Select a pre-existing WordPress pages and assign them to this menu.
4. Add Social Links:
   • Click "Facebook" tab.
     • URL: https://www.facebook.com/your-page
   • Click "Instagram" tab.
     • URL: https://www.instagram.com/your-profile
5. Save Changes: Click the "Update" button to save the footer settings.

Result:

The website's footer will now be updated on every page to show the new logo, the two columns of navigation links, the social media icons, and the copyright text. Any changes made here are reflected globally.
