GIANT CLOWNFISH ENJOYS SUPERSTAR STATUS

Charlie the Clownfish enjoyed a brief taste of superstar status as he followed in the footsteps, or should that be finsteps, of Snoop Dogg and Kate Winslett on a recent trip to the Radisson Blu.

The cuddly Bristol Aquarium costume character was paying a visit to the four-star Broad Quay hotel to promote a new joint initiative with the Harbourside attraction.

Hotel guests can now purchase advance tickets from the concierge and take advantage of a special discounted admission price.

To help launch the new offer, Charlie enjoyed a tour of the hotel’s luxurious penthouse which has played host to Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet, rapper Snoop Dogg and US actor Michael Hall among others.

Bristol Aquarium’s Tina Patel said: “We’re delighted to be working with the Radisson Blu and providing their guests with the opportunity to book tickets in advance at reception at a special discounted price.

“The hotel is within minutes of the aquarium and we know that a large number of guests do come and visit us already, hopefully the new offer will encourage even more to make the trip.

“Clearly Charlie made the very most of his visit and even managed to persuade the hotel to let him try out the Penthouse, although I’m not sure how happy they’ll be when they see him rolling about on their bed!” she added.

Housed in an iconic high rise encased in glass, the Radisson Blu Hotel is within walking distance of many of the city’s top attractions.

The tallest hotel in Bristol, the 18-storey accommodation provides 176 guest rooms and suites, many of which feature exceptional views of Bristol’s harbour and historic landmarks.

There’s a world of aquatic adventure to be discovered at Bristol Aquarium with over 50 amazing displays, two underwater walkthrough tunnels and spectacular open top tanks to explore.

Encounter thousands of sea creatures; from tropical sharks and stingrays to giant octopus and seahorses.
