Visitors to Bristol Aquarium are being invited to embark on a whirlwind underwater tour of the world.
‘Around the World in Fourteen Days’ runs from Saturday, August 3rd until Friday, August 16th at the Harbourside wildlife attraction.
As part of the event visitors will be able to journey from UK shores – home to native sharks and rays, to the warmer waters of the Mediterranean and on to exotic coral reefs before exploring tropical rainforests and African lakes.
“The aim of the event is to provide the public with a fun and informative guide to as wide a variety as possible of different aquatic habitats from around the world,” said Bristol Aquarium’s Tina Patel.
With a total of 10 different talks and activities taking place daily, visitors of all ages can join in the fun ranging from fish feeding sessions to colouring in and teatime stories for youngsters.
There will also be coral reef talks and feeds, shark and octopus feeds and even seahorses feeding demonstrations as well as introductions to native marine and freshwater aquatic species.
‘Around the World in Fourteen Days’ is part of the aquarium’s Summer Fish-tival which runs until Sunday, September 1st, and is a series fun events and themed activities throughout the school holidays.
Visitors can discover the incredible aquatic animals that live around our coastline; from elegant seahorses and acrobatic octopus to graceful sharks and giant stingrays, embark on a tour of the world’s oceans, lakes and rivers.
Find out where the aquarium’s more exotic fishy residents come from and learn about the science of the seas.
