Filming and Events

SAMS filming

Our facilities are often used by the BBC Natural History Unit and other independent TV & Film production companies who wish to either film animal behaviours for documentaries or use our tanks for ‘dip testing’ cameras and new underwater technology.

The photo above shows the Scottish Association for Marine Science filming a news piece in our sunken shipwreck zone.

Local events

We take part in a large number of local events and aim to vary the message we deliver with each event. We take part each year in the BNHC Festival of Nature. Past themes centred on by us have included ‘Big Fish’, ‘Shark Awareness’ and ‘Marine Pollution’.

Since 2014 we have teamed with Plastic Oceans and worked with them at events such as the Festival of Nature, as well as hosting specific Plastic Oceans events here at the Aquarium to help raise awareness of the devastating effects of plastic in aquatic systems worldwide.

Visit our Events page to find out what is taking place at Bristol Aquarium.
